Mekel Bailey is a Costume Designer based in London.
 

In television, Mekel has worked on such shows as Venus vs Mars for Sky TV. He has also worked on short films for Channel 4.

Mekel has been the Costume Designer on a string of popular music videos, for such artists as, Jess Glynne, Little Boots, Young Guns, Yxng Bane, and Sakima.

His commercial work has seen him design costumes for Samsung, NHS, X Factor, Nissan, and Spoke.

Throughout his career, Mekel has worked with a number of high profile artists and celebrities. These include, Kelly Rowland, Virgil van Dijk, Reggie Yates, Hannah Arterton, Liv Warfield, and Nicki Minaj, to name just a few.
 

After an early discussion with our director about the very specific look he wanted for Chairs, it was evident what a strong choice Mekel would be for the production. Mekel started his prep work with some fantastic moodboards, and later with several live videos at costume hire venues across London. This approach to the prep, enabled our director to share in everything Mekel was considering, and together they established the choices to finalise. Mekel worked with all of our ensemble cast to create the stylish looks for their characters in Chairs.
