James Hughes

James has directed hundreds of actors, including Emmy Winners and BAFTA Winners.
 
His debut short film was an official selection of numerous festivals including three Oscar Qualifying ones. James followed this with The Velvet Abstract, an award-winning environmental film produced on six continents. It is narrated by Emmy Winner Tobias Menzies (The Crown). The film was accepted into over 100 international film festivals.His next film, The Inuring, was selected as one of the four best short films of the year at the Sky TV televised National Film Awards.
James followed this with, When the Rain Sets In, edited by Oscar Nominee Patrick J Don Vito (Green Book). He short film, The Sands of Time, features Olivia Williams (The Sixth Sense).

His last release, Sonar, was shot on a submarine through support by the Royal Navy. It has just been released online.

Along with these projects, James has been hired to be a Speaker for BAFTA, the Screenwriting Expo in Los Angeles, and other international events. He has recently become a member of BAFTA.

 

James has just released his biggest short film to date, Chairs. He was also the Casting Director and Locations Manager for the film.
