Chiara Armentano, BFE

Chiara Armentano is originally from Italy and is now based in London.

She graduated from the University of Bologna with a PhD — her thesis was on the postmodern narrative elements of American horrors. Later, Chiara moved to the US to study 16mm filmmaking at the University of Southern California, followed by Film Editing at the Edit Center in New York City. To build on these studies in America, Chiara then moved to the UK where she gained an MA in Filmmaking, with a specialty in Editing, at Goldsmiths University of London.

As an Editor, Chiara has cut short films, music videos, and documentaries. These projects include the feature documentary, Ming of Harlem: Twenty One Storeys in the Air, which screened at Oscar festivals.

Chiara cut Sonar – the other short film release of our director. This strong working relationship was something they were both keen to continue. Chiara initially joined the post-production team from her base in Italy. Later, the edit moved back to London. Throughout this editing stage, Chiara worked closely with our director as Chiara shaped the film from the 5TB of footage from our shoot. At the end of this process, Chiara delivered a fantastic edit of Chairs.
